The SSLC examination results have been announced, with Kodagu district securing 8th rank in the state by achieving a pass percentage of 96.54%. Out of 5,948 students who appeared for the examination in the district, 5,742 students passed.
Deputy Director of the School Education Department, Basavaraju, said that although the district ranked 4th in the previous year with an 82% pass rate, there has been a significant improvement of 14.54% this year, despite the drop in ranking.
Among boys, 2,776 out of 2,904 students passed, recording a pass percentage of 95.59%. Among girls, 2,966 out of 3,044 students passed, achieving a pass percentage of 97.44%.
Taluk-wise performance shows Madikeri at 95.35%, Somwarpet at 97.50%, and Virajpet at 96.25%.
Two students secured the top position in the district by scoring 621 marks out of 625. Linsi Dechamma T.T. of St. Joseph’s Combined High School, Madikeri, and Sinchana K.I. of Shantiniketan High School, Kodagarahalli, secured the highest marks.
Other high scorers include Selva D’Souza of Sant Annam High School, Virajpet, with 620 marks; Shivani Sharadamani of Vishwamanava Kuvempu High School, Somwarpet; U.S. Srivatsa of Kaveri High School, Virajpet; and Siddhartha Kaverappa of Lions High School, Kalatgawang, Gonikoppa, who scored 619 marks.
Sonashree K.E. of St. Joseph’s Combined High School, Madikeri, and Namana of St. Thomas High School, Gonikoppa, scored 618 marks.
Tanvi of Our Lady of Victorious High School, Somwarpet; Mohammed Shifan of Sri Kaveri High School, Virajpet; and Renith of Shantiniketan High School, Kodagaralli, scored 617 marks.
It is noteworthy that 84 out of 140 high schools in the district achieved 100% results. Among them, 37 out of 47 government high schools, 10 out of 40 aided high schools, and 37 out of 53 unaided high schools recorded 100% results. Overall, out of 5,948 students who appeared, 5,742 passed, while 206 students did not clear the examination.
