The Coorg Wildlife Society (CWS) is organising a one-day educational programme titled “Flow with Nature”, focusing on freshwater conservation and responsible angling, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
The event is open to children between the ages of 5 and 15, with limited seats. All participants must be accompanied by guardians.
The event will be held at a riverside camp in Valnoor, Coorg, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, offering participants an immersive experience along the Kaveri River.
CWS emphasised the importance of nurturing environmental awareness among the younger generation, echoing the event’s message:
“Protect the river today, so it flows tomorrow.”
Designed as a blend of learning and outdoor activity, the programme will feature guided sessions on river and freshwater conservation. Participants will gain insights into the importance of rivers, protection of aquatic ecosystems, and responsible water usage practices.
A key highlight of the event will be a hands-on sport fishing experience, where attendees will be introduced to the basics of catch-and-release fishing, familiarisation with angling equipment, and ethical fishing practices.
In addition, the programme includes a presentation on herpetology and recreational activities by the riverside, providing a well-rounded outdoor learning experience.
