A tiger sighting in Ibbanivalawadi village, about 2 km from Madikeri, has triggered concern among residents.
The animal was captured on CCTV in a plantation belonging to a local resident. Forest department personnel have visited the spot.
Officials confirmed that earlier reports of a big cat movement in the area have now been identified as a Tiger.
Residents have urged authorities to capture the animal, while MLA Dr. Manthar Gowda has directed the department to take immediate action. Authorities have advised villagers to remain vigilant.
