The selection process for identifying talented hockey players for admission to the Girls’ Sports Hostel, Madikeri, will be held at the SAI Hockey Turf Ground on February 9 and 10, beginning at 9 a.m.
Girls aged between 12 and 15 years are eligible to participate in the selection trials. Participants are required to bring their personal sports equipment.
Candidates must also produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a medical officer, sports achievement certificates (district, divisional, state level and above, with at least three years of participation), date of birth certificate issued by the Birth and Death Registration Authority, five recent passport-size photographs and Aadhaar card for address verification. A set of original documents should be carried for verification.
The selection will be based on sports performance over the previous three years and physical tests prescribed by the Sports Authority of India (SAI). No daily allowance or travel expenses will be provided to participants.
Selected sportspersons will be provided free accommodation, food, sports equipment, medical facilities and educational support by the SAI Training Centre, said Mini Unniraj, Administrative Officer, SAI Training Centre.
