The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with solemn pride and patriotic fervour at Sainik School Kodagu. The ceremony reflected the school’s rich military ethos and deep reverence for the nation and its Constitution.
The celebration began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the school war memorial by Wg Cdr Mohammad Shaji and the Chief Guest, Wg Cdr Prakash Rao. The officiating Principal was ceremoniously escorted to the memorial by the horse cavalcade, lending dignity and tradition to the occasion.

Thereafter, the Chief Guest unfurled the Tricolour, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Cadets, dressed in crisp ceremonial uniforms, stood in perfect formation, radiating discipline and patriotic spirit.
Cadet Priyanshu Yadav, the Parade Commander, received the Chief Guest with a General Salute and led the proceedings with commendable confidence and precision. After the Samiksha Kram, the soulful rendition of Vande Mataram by the members of the school’s Music Club deeply moved the audience and added emotional depth to the celebration.
On the occasion, Mrs Sreelekha V S, PGT English, and Mr Murali S G, General Employee, were honoured with the LBA Chairman’s Commendation Certificate in recognition of their exceptional service and dedication to the institution. As a mark of appreciation for the committed service rendered by the General Employees, the Chief Guest presented a box of sweets to Mr Sharanappa, who received it on behalf of all General Employees.

Addressing the cadets and staff, the Chief Guest paid rich tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar for his invaluable contribution to the Constitution of India. He highlighted the spirit of selfless service exemplified by defence personnel and urged the cadets to place service to the nation above personal comfort. He congratulated the awardees and extended Republic Day greetings to all.
Adding pride to the occasion, Sainik School Kodagu was awarded with the Republic Day Parade Excellence Trophy by the Kodagu District In- charge Minister for its outstanding march past performance in the Republic Day Parade at Madikeri. The ceremony was attended by Mrs Divya Singh, Mrs Shalini Rao, the School Medical Officer, Senior Master, academic and administrative staff, NCC PI staff, and cadets, marking a memorable and inspiring Republic Day celebration.
